As a young immigrant who arrived in the United States with nothing but determination and ambition, I embarked on a journey that took me from humble beginnings to remarkable achievements. Escaping the clutches of an oppressive regime, I embarked on harrowing journey that took me to the United State.
My experience of fleeing my home country during the Cold War has instilled in me resilience, a global perspective, and an unwavering commitment to freedom and democracy. This unique background equips me with the empathy, inclusivity, and leadership skills needed to effectively represent and unite the diverse communities within our district.
With unwavering resilience, I pursued higher education on a full scholarship, graduating with honors and ultimately carving a path to success. Today, I stand as a proud example of how hard work and opportunity can transform a life. I am wholeheartedly dedicated to giving back to our community with the same passion and tenacity that have defined my own journey.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Master of Arts degree from Ohio University, Athens, providing me with a strong foundation for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

With over 15 years of experience as a communication strategist and policy advisor, I have the privilege of working with esteemed organizations such as UNICEF, Voice of America, and the US Military (AFRICOM) in the Horn of Africa, especially in Military Information Operation (MISO). This extensive experience has honed my skills in strategic planning, crises management and effective communication, which are crucial for addressing the complex issues our community faces.
